Nearly every couple struggles at some point in their marriage with sex, desire and intimacy. Every relationship experiences differences in drive and desire between the two partners.
I can help you understand this important relationship dynamic and have better conversations, and better sex as a result. Sometimes you just need a way to communicate what you are feeling without it sending your partner into an emotional tailspin.
Marriage counseling is all about helping partners learn to have tender conversations in a way that makes you both feel seen, heard and connected
-
Throughout your marriage, you will go through many life transitions. Your relationship will have to grow and shift with those changes in order to thrive.
Experiences such as grief, retirement, job loss, infertility, parenthood, menopause, empty-nesting, caring for parents and all the other inevitable changes that occur can sometimes send your relationship sideways.
Learning how to love and support one another well through the changes sometimes requires new understanding and skills learned in marriage therapy.
-
The most common reason couples give for seeking out marriage therapy is to communicate better. In spite of trying, many struggle to get their partner to understand them.
Sometimes it feels like we’re quick to conflict and slow to communicate. Others avoid conflict altogether and the problems never really go away - they just come back fully charged at a later date.
Marriage counseling can help you learn to communicate better, and how to solve conflict so that it becomes something that connects you rather than separates you.
-
Addiction, Mental Illness, ADHD, Neurodiversity and other challenging behaviors can wreak havoc on yoru relationship.
The problem is not because of the illness itself, but because of the downstream effects on the relationship when not managed well. This is because we operate on assumptions in relationships: assumptions that we can trust our partner, that they will behave or react in predictable ways, that we can accurately track our partners moods, motives and moves. Untreated or mismanaged mental illness or addiction removes that sense of security and safety that is foundational in relationships.
Marriage counseling can help you understand the circumstances and context of these challenging behaviors, and help you find better clarity on the next best move forward when you or your partner is experiencing one of these particular challenges.
